You do NOT have to buy any additional apps, but I did have to look up the tutorial online to learn how to use the app. If you dont have the words and quizzes loaded properly it wont access the activities button. Not very user friendly for that reason.
With that being said....once I was able to load the spelling words in correctly it worked GREAT! My 8 year old now enjoys loading his spelling words each week (he likes to do the microphone and make up funny sentences to go along with his word). He practices his words each day of the week and takes the quiz each day for h
is spelling homework. He has gotten 100% both weeks we have used it so far. So worth the money for us!
